Exploring Mt Everest without a doubt a checklist left unmarked in our bucket list. However, it is a tough journey, and some of us, are too busy or our bodies may need to function as they did in our prime. So, Places Nepal brings you a package that allows you to explore Mt Everest, and Kalapathar and return to Kathmandu in one day.
The one-day Helicopter ride to EBC and Kalapathar begins from Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu (1400m). As the whole trip revolves around flying, the cost of the Everest helicopter tour package varies from person to group.
At the airport, we’ll check into the helicopter check-point and then grab a chopper to Lukla Airport (2,800m), where following a short interval for fuel, we will continue towards Khumbu (3,300m) and Everest Base Camp (5,364m). Following the flyover at EBC, we will land at Kalapathar (5,644m) and fly to Syanboche Hill (3,860m). A final Helicopter ride from Lukla to Kathmandu concludes our one-day luxurious tour of Everest Base Camp.

05:30 AM: Transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport
As the whole trip concludes in not more than 5 hours and we have to get to Everest before the mid-day wind blows clouds, blocking the view, we have to start early. A representative from Places Nepal will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the helicopter check-in point, where following some paperwork and get to the helicopter hanger.
You’ll be pre-informed on the necessary documents required and your original passport might come in handy. In about an hour or so, we will get on the helicopter and leave for Lukla at 6:30 am.
06: 30 am: Flight from Kathmandu to Lukla
The helicopter flight from Lukla will take about 45 minutes and give us a chance to explore the eastern hilly side of Nepal. The scenic helicopter ride will take us to the Khumbu region, where we will stop for a short break as the chopper might require refueling.
7:45 am: Towards Khumbu and Everest Base Camp
Following our short refueling break, we’ll once again get on the chopper and this time for the ultimate ride. As we take off the sky, we will embraced by an awe-inspiring view of the Khumbu region.
As you fly towards Everest Base Camp, the landscape undergoes a mesmerizing transformation. The gleaming Dudh-Kosi River, a testament to the glacial origins of the Himalayas, winds its way through the valleys beneath you, its milky waters creating a captivating sight. The presence of terraced fields, revered monasteries, and isolated Sherpa villages adds richness to the journey, while the towering peaks of the Himalayas beckon in the distance, enticing you with their grandeur.
8: 15 am Flyover at Basecamp & Kalapathar
As we draw closer to the flyover zone, the helicopter gracefully arcs over the iconic Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar, immersing us in an awe-inspiring world. We will be hovering at an impressive altitude of 5,250 meters (17,225 feet), allowing us to marvel at the vastness of the Himalayas unfurling beneath us. The Base Camp and the prominence of Kala Patthar provide unparalleled vistas of the Everest massif. 08: 30 am Flight to Syangboche Hill and Mt. Everest View Hotel

Syangboche provides a peaceful sanctuary after the thrilling flight over Everest Base Camp. The iconic Mt. Everest View Hotel stands ready to welcome us. Upon landing, we can savor a delicious breakfast while taking in the majestic Everest massif.09:30 AM: Return Flight to Kathmandu with a Potential Lukla Stop
Our journey descends back to Kathmandu as the landscape undergoes a swift transformation, evolving from the icy grandeur of the mountains to the lush green valleys and terraced farmlands of the lower regions. We may be required to make a brief stop at Lukla for refueling. This short pitstop is a nice opportunity to explore Lukla, the gateway to Mt. Everest.

11:00 AM: Arrival at Kathmandu Domestic Airport & Drive to Hotel
